Short-tailed Swallowtail

The Short-tailed Swallowtail is not an everyday butterfly in Newfoundland. I have only seen a couple and the sightings were four years apart.
Unfortunately, most of my shots show less-than perfect specimens.
 The last two images in this series show this swallowtail setting up and laying eggs. Very interesting.

  1. Lovely photos; not easy to find pics of short-tailed swallowtails in Newfoundland. Linked to you for pictures of the adult; a couple days after you posted these, we spotted some caterpillars.
